Supporting local participation, not replacing anything
Patrol is an independent, free local alert network for residents. Council community teams can help residents discover it, or talk to us about a small local pilot with community groups.
Four light-touch roles
Community awareness
Letting residents and community groups know a free, privacy-first local alert tool exists — alongside the other options you already mention.
Local participation
Helping residents’ associations and community groups activate their own areas, at their own pace, with their own link.
Signposting
Pointing people to the right place: Patrol for neighbour-to-neighbour alerts; council channels, the Gardaí and 999/112 for everything official or urgent.
Optional pilot discussions
A small, time-limited pilot with a handful of community groups, to see whether it is genuinely useful in your area before anyone recommends it further.
What Patrol is not
- Not an official council service, and not endorsed by any council or local authority.
- Not a replacement for council reporting channels — potholes, dumping, lighting and the rest still go to the council.
- Not the Gardaí and not an emergency service. In an emergency, ring 999 or 112.
- Reports on Patrol are one neighbour’s account. They are not verified by the Gardaí, a council or any authority.
- No public feed, no naming or shaming, no exact addresses — and no member data shared with anyone, councils included.

Tell us your area and the community groups you work with. A person replies — no sales process, no contract.
